General FAQ

How long have you been in business?

I started with weigandtStudios in 2006 by creating wedding videos, in 2011 I made the switch to professional photography.

How many pictures do you take per photo session?

Depending on the shooting: Family, Maternity, and Engagements between 2, Seniors and Beauty Sessions between 35-50 pictures. On a typical wedding, I produce between 60-80 edited images per hour.

Are all images edited?

Yes, I produce fully edited JPG images from any shooting.

What gear are you using?

I use professional Canon gear.

What happens if you become ill on the day of shooting?

Engagement, Family and Senior pictures will most likely to be rescheduled. If I won't be able to show up to the wedding I will have a photographer, hired by me, that matches my shooting style to shoot instead of me. I still will be the one editing and delivering the images to you.

Do I have to pay extra for the USB Stick and what does it contain?

Yes, but the purchase of the USB Stick is optional, in case of a wedding the USB Stick is always included if the wedding is at least 8 hours long. It usually contains all pictures from the wedding unless specified otherwise.

What can I use the print credit for?

The Print credit can be used to purchase prints or digital files. It also can be used as payment for a different shooting.

Can I redeem the print credit for cash?

No, the print credit is not redeemable for cash.

How do I receive the print credit?

Usually as credit in my online store when ordering prints. However, if you decide not to use the print credit I will give you a gift card in the amount of the credit. Please keep in mind that this gift card expires within one year.

How long do I have to wait until I can see the images?

Family, Engagement etc usually 2 weeks, Weddings between 6-8 weeks.

Do you speak any foreign language?

Yes, I am trilingual. I speak German and Russian in addtion to English.

Are you shooting in a studio or outdoor?

I'm a natural light photographer and love working with the light nature provides. Because I am heavily relying on the sunlight, scheduling and being on-time is really important, the sun doesn't wait. In some rare cases, I shoot in a rented studio.

Do you have a back up camera in case something happens to your main camera?

Yes, I do.

Do you deliver the RAW files?

In general, I do not. In very rare cases I deliver RAW for Commercial/Non-Profits.

Do we get a print release?

Yes, with every purchase of digital files - either download or on a USB Stick. The copyright remains with me.

What is the difference between the print release and the copyright release?

Print release: It allows you to print the pictures for personal use while preserving my rights of owning the images.

Copyright release: It transfers the copyright from the photographer to the client. After this release, the photographer no longer owns the images and can't use them without the client's permission.

I don't want my images to be uploaded in Facebook or any website, what can I do?

If you don't like to see your images used for marketing purpose in online networks or print magazines then talk to me before the shooting. I honor oral agreements with my clients and won't use the pictures if asked.

Around what time do you usually have your photo sessions?

I usually start a photo session around 2h before sunset. Depending on the season the times vary from 3:30 PM to 7 PM.
